Road Biking
Oisans is a real Mecca for cyclists! Its legendary stages of the "Tour De France" attract cyclists every year from around the world. Most cycling itineraries start from Bourg d’Oisans, a few kilometres below Oz-en-Oisans. The area offers several iconic climbs like the "21 bends of the ascent of the Alpe d’Huez", the Glandon pass, the Croix de Fer pass, the Galibier pass, the Lautaret pass, the Ornon pass…
For a less-travelled road, try the Col de Sabot, which leaves from Allemont and goes via Vaujany and Oz. It's every bit as challenging as the Tour de France stages, but it's less travelled as it's a dead-end road.

Oisans is a well-preserved area of the Alps, with seriously steep terrain and kilometres of pleasant, fun or extreme paths with spectacular scenery.

Mountaineering
While mountaineering, you will climb frozen waterfalls, cross glaciers with crampons, climb ridges, or abseil down rock faces. With the supervision of professional guides, this activity is accessible and safe, and will push your limits!
Rock climbing
Climbing is a demanding yet fascinating sport. Oisans knows how to offer rock lovers what they are looking for, whether you're climbing on crags, boulders or walls. Mountain guides will supply the right equipment, help you choose an appropriate route and ensure you execute the route safely!

Via Ferrata
Via ferrata is an Italian term meaning "iron path": it is a protected climbing route, built with a steel cable rail fixed to the rock, metal steps, ladders, suspension bridges and zip wires. The climbers affix a harness with two leashes to these cables, securing themselves and limiting any fall. Open to everyone, this fun activity is available on 7 very different routes in Oisans.
Tennis
Before or after your day's excursion, wouldn't it be fun to play tennis up in the mountains? Two tennis courts are at your disposal, free of charge, in the Oz-en-Oisans resort:
- the Alpette tennis court, 50 meters away from the Chalet.
- the Poutran tennis court (at the foot of the run, 5 min away from the Chalet)
You just have to book the court at the Tourist Office, and you're set for a game!
Fishing
Oisans offers many choice of mountain lakes, rivers and mountain streams for fishing. Whether you enjoy spinning, fly or hook and line fishing, you will find silence, blue sky, tranquility… and fish!! In the mountain streams, you will mainly find brown trout, rainbow trout, artic char, & brook trout. Make sure you contact the Tourist Offices or local fishing associations to ensure you are fishing legally and always bring your national and local fishing permit with you, as you may be asked to show it to the park rangers. Fishing permits are sold on the website cartedepeche.fr or at the Bourg d’Oisans Tourist Office.
Donkey and horse riding
If you want to discover Oisans, without too much fatigue, there are a few options available for you: you can explore the area at the leisurely pace of a donkey or a horse!

Swimming pools
Oisans has a number of indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
- Allemond has an outdoor public swimming-pool with 3 pools: a paddling pool for toddlers, a medium pool for children and a big pool with diving-board for adults.
- Vaujany has a pool with toboggan ride, waterfall, sun terraces and an impressive view of the Grandes Rousses Massif. Accessible via the Alpette lift that goes from Vaujany to Oz-en-Oisans.
- In Alpe d'Huez village you can enjoy a large, open air swimming pool throughout the summer season. Enjoy the wonderful mountains while you take a dip!
Lake and watersports
Verney Lake watersports center is open all summer, and offers plenty of fun water activities to refresh yourself or simply sun bath. It offers a wide range of water sports, such as:
- canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boards
- pedal boats
- optimist boats, windsurfing
All the equipment is available for rent. You can also choose to book a professional instructor for a windsurfing or optimist boating session. Swimming is not permitted, but with all the activities on offer on the water, you will for sure enjoy this refreshing experience! The watersport center is located in Allemond, which you can reach in 15 min from Oz-en-Oisans by car, or from the new Eau d'Olle gondola running between Allemond and Oz-en-Oisans.
Treetop rope park
Try a leisure park set in a spruce forest, with a spectacular view on Belledonne mountain range. This tree-top ropes and ladders course is just 300 meters away from the Chalet! There are different treetop trails adapted to all ages and levels. Thrills guaranteed!
The park has several ziplines (one of them 330 m long), an inflatable castle, quads for kids, picnic tables... a tree-climbing circuit completely secure for children ages 5 years and up, and an interactive workshops for 3 to 5 year olds.
Canyoning
Rafting and hydrospeed
Want to cool-down from the heat of the Summer? White-water activities will not only do this, they will also provide you with some thrills and great memories! There is a range of activities available in the turquoise waters of the Vénéon and Romanche Rivers. Several whitewater activities are possible from May to September: rafting, hydrospeed, tubing, hot dog, canoeing…
